These terms are the agreement between you and us for using Averic's apps. They are written to be read. If anything is unclear, email hello@averic.app and we will explain it.
1. Who we are
"Averic", "we", "us" and "our" mean Averic Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 17501459), of First Floor, Swan Buildings, 20 Swan Street, Manchester M4 5JW. You can contact us at hello@averic.app.
2. What these terms cover
These terms cover Averic's desktop apps (Guidance, Ergo, Mize, and any app we add later), the accounts and feedback boards inside them, and the website averic.app. Together we call these "the Services".
Products shown as upcoming (Slate, the iPhone apps, and Mize and Slate for Mac) are not available to download from this website. A waitlist signup is not a purchase, a reservation or a promise of a release date.
Our Acceptable Use Policy forms part of these terms. Our Privacy Policy explains how we use personal data; reading or accepting these terms is not consent to marketing or optional tracking. Some features have extra rules, which we show you where you use them.
3. Who can use the Services
You must be at least 13. If you are under 18, a parent or guardian must agree to these terms with you, and a parent or guardian must make any purchase.
Mize's AI features are for people aged 13 and over too. Before you first use one, Mize asks your date of birth. If you are under 13, the AI features stay switched off, and the rest of Mize still works.
4. Your licence to use the apps
We own the apps and keep all rights in them. We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use them on devices you own or control, for your own use, for as long as you follow these terms.
You may not copy, sell, rent or redistribute the apps, or remove our notices from them. You may not reverse engineer, decompile or disassemble them, except where the law allows it despite this term.
A licence key or paid plan is for you alone. Sharing, publishing or selling a key, or getting round the free plan's limits in any way other than paying, breaks these terms.
5. Accounts
You do not need an account to use the apps' main features. An account lets a paid plan follow you to another computer and lets you post on feedback boards. Guidance and Ergo share an Averic sign-in on the same computer. Mize uses the same account, with a separate sign-in.
Give accurate details, keep your password and sign-in codes to yourself, and tell us straight away if you think someone else has used your account.
You can delete your account at any time from Mize's Settings, or by emailing hello@averic.app.
6. Free and paid plans
Our released desktop apps have a free plan that does the app's main job, for as long as we offer the app. A paid plan ("Pro") adds features. What each plan includes, and its price, is shown before you pay.
Who you pay. Paid plans are sold through OneLink (Link, LLC), the merchant of record service run by Stripe. OneLink is the seller on your receipt and your bank statement, where the payment shows as LINK.COM. Its buyer terms, shown at checkout, cover the payment itself, tax, receipts and payment support, and it may give refunds under its own rules as well as ours. Your right to use Pro comes from us, under these terms.
Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each monthly or yearly period, at the price you agreed, until you cancel. We will remind you before a yearly plan renews. You can cancel at any time by signing in at link.com with the email address you paid with, where you can also see your orders and update your payment details, or by emailing hello@averic.app. You keep Pro until the end of the period you have paid for, and you are not charged again. Lifetime is a single payment and never renews.
Free trial. A new install may include 14 days of Pro for free. We do not take a card for it, and when it ends the app goes back to the free plan without charging you anything.
Price changes. We can change our prices. We will tell you at least 30 days before a new price applies to your subscription, and it only applies from your next renewal. If you do not want to pay it, cancel before then.
7. Your right to cancel, and refunds
If you are a consumer in the UK, you normally have 14 days after entering a distance contract for digital content or services to cancel. For digital content supplied immediately, the right to cancel ends only when supply begins after your express consent and acknowledgement that you will lose that right, with the required confirmation provided. Different rules can apply to ongoing services. We explain the cancellation terms that apply before you buy. None of this removes your rights if what we supply is faulty or not as described. To ask to cancel or request a refund, email hello@averic.app, or contact OneLink support through your purchase receipt or link.com.
If an app is faulty, see section 13.
8. Updates and changes
We improve the apps often. Guidance can download and install updates to itself and to your other Averic apps; you choose in Guidance's Settings whether it does that automatically. Some updates are needed to keep an app secure or working with the Services, and an app may stop working with the Services if you do not install them.
We may change or remove features. If we remove a paid feature during a period you have paid for, and it was a significant part of what you paid for, we will refund the unused part of that period, or you can cancel.
9. Your content
Your tasks, notes, job applications, CVs and everything else you create in the apps belong to you. Most of it stays on your own computer. Where a feature stores or syncs it through our Services, we use it only to provide that feature, as the Privacy Policy explains.
We take care not to lose your data, and our apps keep backups where they can, but we recommend keeping your own copy of anything important.
When you post on a feedback board, you give us a worldwide, royalty-free licence to show your post to anyone signed in to an Averic account and to build your idea into our apps without paying you for it.
10. Feedback boards and online safety
Feedback boards let you post ideas for an app and vote on other people's. Anyone signed in to an Averic account can see your posts, your display name and how many votes a post has. Nobody can see who voted, and your profile picture is never shown on a board.
Who can use them. You need an Averic account, and the Services are for people aged 13 and over (section 3). We do not check your age when you sign up: you confirm it by agreeing to these terms, and that rule is the same for everyone. If we learn an account belongs to someone under 13, we delete it.
What you can post. Text only: no pictures, files or private messages, and links are never clickable. Posts must follow the Acceptable Use Policy.
How we keep the boards safe. A person, not an automated tool, reads every new post within two days. We use no proactive technology to scan posts. Anything illegal or against our rules is taken down as soon as we find it, and we may restrict or delete the account that posted it.
- Terrorist content: removed, the account deleted, and reported to the police. An account run by or for a proscribed organisation is deleted.
- Child sexual exploitation and abuse: removed, the account deleted, and reported to the National Crime Agency, as the law requires.
- Other illegal content, such as threats, harassment, stalking, hate, fraud and scams, encouraging suicide or serious self-harm, intimate images shared without consent, and anything else against the law: removed, and reported to the police where someone may be at risk.
Protecting under-18s. People from 13 can use the boards, so:
- Never allowed: pornography, and anything that encourages, promotes or gives instructions for suicide, self-harm or an eating disorder. We remove it as soon as we find it, and the boards cannot show pictures or videos at all.
- Also not allowed, and removed the same way: abuse or hate aimed at people because of who they are, bullying, content encouraging serious violence, violent or gory content, dangerous stunts or challenges, and encouraging people to take harmful substances.
Reporting a post. Press Report under any post, or email hello@averic.app with the app's name and the post's title. We read every report within 5 working days. If two different people report the same post, it is hidden until we have looked at it.
Complaints and appeals. If we remove your post or restrict your account and you think we got it wrong, email hello@averic.app and someone will look again; if we were wrong, we put it back. Use the same address to complain about a post, about how we handled a report, or that we are not meeting our duties under the Online Safety Act. We may set aside a complaint that is plainly unfounded, but we still record it.
This section was updated on 7 October 2026, and the changes apply from 7 November 2026.
11. AI features
Some features, currently in Mize, use artificial intelligence supplied by Anthropic. When you use them you are dealing with an AI system, not a person.
- AI output can be wrong, incomplete or out of date. Check anything important yourself, especially before you send it to an employer. It is not careers, legal or financial advice.
- AI features are subject to usage allowances. The relevant app or plan explains its limits; reaching a limit can pause AI features until the allowance resets. Buying a plan does not mean unlimited AI use.
- What you send to an AI feature is passed to our AI provider to produce the answer, as the Privacy Policy explains. Leave out anything it does not need, and never type passwords or bank details into it.
- Every AI answer in Mize is labelled as coming from Mize's AI. If one is wrong, unsafe or upsetting, press Report this under it. We read reports and use them to make the AI safer.
- Mize shows a short guide to using its AI safely before you first use it, and keeps it in Settings, About.
12. Other companies' services
Some features connect to services run by other companies: for example Spotify in Ergo, job listings from Adzuna in Mize, sign-in run through Supabase, and downloads served from GitHub. Those companies' own terms apply to their services, and their terms explain their responsibilities. This does not remove our responsibilities to you under applicable law.
We do not check job listings or the employers behind them. Take normal care before sharing personal details with anyone you find through Mize.
13. Our responsibility to you
If you are a consumer you have legal rights that these terms do not affect. What we supply must be as described, fit for purpose and of satisfactory quality. If it is faulty you can ask us to repair or replace it, and in some cases get some or all of your money back. Citizens Advice can explain your rights in more detail.
If digital content we supply damages your device or other digital content, and that happened because we did not use reasonable care and skill, we will repair the damage or pay you fair compensation.
We are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of us breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care and skill. We are not responsible for loss or damage that was not foreseeable.
These terms do not exclude any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded. Any separate business-use terms will be made clear before they apply.
Nothing in these terms limits our responsibility for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law does not allow us to limit.
14. Ending
You can stop using the apps and uninstall them at any time. Cancelling a subscription is covered in section 6.
We can suspend or end your account, your paid plan or your access to feedback boards if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms or the Acceptable Use Policy, or if the law requires us to. Unless it is urgent or the law says otherwise, we will warn you first and give you a chance to put things right. If we end a paid plan for a reason that is not your fault, we will refund the unused part.
If we stop offering an app or a paid plan, we will give you at least 30 days' notice and refund any period you have paid for but will not get. Where an app works without our Services, you can keep using the version you have, although it will no longer be updated.
15. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms, for example when we add a feature or the law changes. We will tell you about important changes at least 30 days before they apply, in the app or by email. If you do not agree, you can stop using the Services and cancel any subscription before the change applies, and you will not be charged again.
16. The legal bits
- These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. You can bring a claim in the courts of England and Wales or, if you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, in the courts where you live.
- If a court decides that part of these terms is invalid, the rest still applies.
- If we do not enforce a term straight away, we can still enforce it later.
- Only you and we have rights under these terms. We may transfer our rights and responsibilities to another business, such as a company set up to run Averic, and we will tell you if we do. It will not reduce your rights. You may not transfer yours.
